SOCIAL WELFARE
    The Ministry of Social Welfare. Relief and Resettlement is implementing the following services systematically: - Child Welfare Services, Youth Welfare  Services, Women's Welfare Services, Care of the Aged, Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Grants in Aids to Voluntary Organizations, Resettlement and Rehabilitation of Vagrants, Rehabilitation of Ex-drug Addicts.

Client - Orphans and abandoned children of both sexes, (0-5) age group.
Services - Institutional care, pre-primary education, health and nutrition and other essential services for children such as adoption under the Registration of Kittima Adoption Act.
Location - Yangon 2, Mandalay 1, Magway 1, Kyaingtone 1,Mawlamyaing 1.

Services - Early childhood development activities, nutritional care and pre-school education.

Care of the Aged
The Government provides assistance for the care of the aged through grants in aids to Voluntary Homes for Aged.

Total Number - 33
Beneficiaries - Aged (male/female) to age 60 and above who are destitute or have no family member to depend upon.
Services - Institutional care, health care, religious activities.

Rehabilitation of the Disabled
School for tile Disabled Children
Total Number - 1 (Yangon)
Beneficiaries - Disabled children with single or multiple disability (6-12) age group.
Services - Special education, A.D.L training in days school timing.
Intake - Disabled who has completed medical rehabilitation in the Hospital for the Disabled and entrusted by parents.
School for the Blind
Total Number - 1 (Yangon)
Inmates - Blind (partial/total), Both sexes, (6-18) age group.
Services - Special education, vocational training
Intake - Referral from medical professional, social workers, local authorities and members of the community.
School for the Deaf
Total Number - 1 (Mandalay)
Inmates - Deaf (severe deafness) Both sexes (6-18) age group
Services - Special education, vocational training in residential na- ture
Intake - Referral from medical professionals, social workers, local authorities and members of the community.
Vocational Training School for Adult Disabled
Total Number - 1 (Yangon)
Beneficiaries - Person with physical disability (18-45) age group
Services - Vocational training in Tailoring, carpentry, off-set printing,silk-screen printing, massage and photography.
Intake - Referral from the Hospital for the Disabled and Military Hospital.

Resettlement and Rehabilitation of Vagrants
Rehabilitation Programme for Social Outcasts
Client - Social outcasts who have been ostracized due to their functions in life as pagoda slave, grave diggers and vagrants.
- Ex-patients of Leper in Htauk-Kyant.
Services - Establishment of Producers Co-operatives for the target
group
- Placement in suitable jobs and opening of Youth Centres
and Voluntary Primary Night Schools for the benefit of
their children.
- Resettlement of ex-leper and provide requirement for them.
Location - Some townships in Mandalay and Magway Division.
- Mayanchaung village, Hlegu Township.
